Jolliman Essentials Limited has recently made a significant contribution to The Salvation Army by donating brand new men’s trousers, demonstrating their commitment to corporate social responsibility and community support.
The donation, consisting of Jolliman Trousers, will be distributed to The Salvation Army Lifehouse, where they will be made available to individuals facing hardship.
This generous act aligns with Jolliman’s long-standing tradition of providing quality clothing at fair prices, now extended to those most in need.
Derek Goodwin, Corporate Operations Manager at Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL), expressed gratitude for the donation, stating, “Thanks to the generous donations we receive, SATCoL help to raise vital funds for our parent charity to support its work with vulnerable people in the UK. Your donations are helping to transform lives.”
This collaboration between Jolliman and The Salvation Army not only addresses immediate needs but also contributes to broader social and environmental goals. As Goodwin noted, “Together, we can help others and help protect our planet.”
Jolliman’s donation reflects the company’s dedication to making a positive impact beyond its commercial activities, embodying the spirit of its founder, Jack “Jolliman” Frawley, who prioritised customer needs and community connection.
This act of corporate giving showcases how businesses can play a crucial role in supporting charitable organisations and addressing social issues, setting an example for other companies to follow.
A spokesperson for Jolliman added, “Homelessness is a key concern of ours. It is something I personally became involved in when a family member experienced a relationship breakdown, which caused their life to spiral into alcohol addiction. This led to a series of poor decisions that resulted in them living on the streets and being rejected by their immediate family. My wife and I supported him through recovery and helped him back into accommodation. He now leads a fairly normal life, has re-established links with his immediate family, but still lives with many health issues caused by alcohol abuse and living on the streets.”
